Be My Neighbor Day

Ocean State Media is excited to host Be My Neighbor Day in Rhode Island. This is an intergenerational event where families, children, and community members are invited to spread joy and connection. Hop on the trolley and interact with community members through early learning activities and participate in a community service project. These trolley stops include decorating a Daniel Tiger Birthday card, hands-on activities, and more. Several trolley stops will be hosted by community helpers who will engage young children by sharing their roles and inspiring them to become helpers in their own communities. Contribute to our community service project of assembling “Birthday Boxes” filled with treats, cards, and small gifts to celebrate the birthdays of our cherished neighbors throughout the year. This event will be done in collaboration with Meeting Street and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Our mission as a public media station is to be in, of, and for the community—working alongside our neighbors to inspire civic engagement and connection. Through Be My Neighbor Day, we hope to spark joy, foster connection, and give back to our community.
